Stainless Steel Casters (RM-Clean)

Stainless steel swivel caster with a polished stainless bracket

The RM-Clean series builds the bracket, axle and (optionally) the wheel in stainless steel, so the caster survives washdown, salt spray and cleaning chemicals without seizing or rusting.

Typical applications: food processing lines, cold storage, pharmaceutical cleanrooms, medical equipment and marine-adjacent environments.

The wheel tread is chosen for the environment — food-grade PU, high-temperature nylon or phenolic — because stainless protects the bracket, not the polymer. Material certificates and batch test records are available on request.

Spezifikationen

  • SS304 standard, SS316 for chloride-heavy environments
  • Stainless bracket, raceway, axle and fittings — no rusting fastener in the load path
  • Salt spray tested in-house
  • Food-grade and high-temp wheel options

Selection factorRule of thumbEffect on performance
Load sizingTotal load ÷ 3 (not ÷ 4)On uneven floors only three wheels carry the cart
Wheel diameterBigger rolls easierLarger wheels cut push force and bridge gaps
Tread hardnessSofter = quieter, harder = easier rollingPick the softest tread that carries the load
Bearing choicePrecision ball for manual pushing, roller for heavy loadsBearings dominate rolling resistance at high load
Swivel vs rigid2 swivel + 2 rigid is the standard cart setupAll-swivel carts wander; all-rigid carts cannot steer
Floor conditionRough floors need bigger wheels and softer treadsSmall hard wheels on bad floors destroy both
